Reid spokesman: Ideas so extreme it takes two

The spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) had this to say in response to Rep. Michele Bachmann’s (R-Minn.) announcement that she will respond to the President’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night in addition to Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), who will deliver the official Republican response following Obama’s speech:

“A man who wants to eliminate Social Security and Medicare," said spokesman Jon Summers. "A woman who called the president ‘anti-American.' Extreme ideas and extreme rhetoric. That tells you all you need to know about the current state of the Republican Party.”
