The Senate will vote at about 3 p.m. Thursday on the House-approved measure to fund the government for another three weeks.
The bill would slash $6 billion in government spending.
The House approved the same spending resolution by a 271-158 vote Tuesday afternoon despite opposition from 54 Republicans.
The upper chamber will take up the measure at noon and engage in three hours of debate prior to the vote.
The Senate adjourned at 7:04 p.m. Wednesday and is scheduled to reconvene at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
