McConnell: Dems pursuing agenda 'radically opposed' to job creation

“The results speak for themselves," said McConnell. "An annual deficit three times bigger than the biggest deficit we ever ran during the last administration, a national debt that we now know will be greater this year than our nation’s entire economy and chronic unemployment.”

On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the economy added only 54,000 jobs in the month of May.

“Democrats don’t want to admit that the government-driven policies of the past two and a half years are part of the problem,” McConnell said.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) defended his agenda immediately after McConnell's remarks.

"This Congress, we've also done some things," said Reid. "We've focused [on] jobs. We know how important jobs are."
