Senate GOP shoots down Dems’ attempt to extend FAA funding

Senate Democrats are reluctant to take up the House’s version of the FAA funding bill, in part, because it would strip subsidies of air travel from 10 small airports in Montana, Nevada and New Mexico.

After objecting to Durbin’s request, Hatch tried to pull that House bill to the Senate floor but Durbin objected to that request stating it was an “unfair approach.”

I'm sorry that the senator from Utah objected to a clean extension of this so that we could keep up these operations,” Durbin said. “I object to this because I don't believe it's a fair approach.”
