Reid holds the Senate open while waiting for House vote

"The reason we're extending morning business is the [House] is having trouble passing the bill, I understand, and so we're waiting until action is taken," said Reid.

"They started at 4:30 p.m. and it's taking a lot longer than they anticipated," said Reid. "I understand they have another caucus that they're now engaged in."

Reid said he would be back at 8:30 p.m. to speak, and said he hoped he would have a better idea of what was happening.
