“The intent of my bill is to lift the cloud of insecurity that is causing employers to be cautious and to refrain from creating jobs, jobs that are economy desperately need,” said Collins from the Senate floor.
In particular Collins’ “Regulatory Time-Out Act” would ban rules that would adversely affect the economy by more than $100 million. Rules that pertain to imminent threats to human health or safety or applying to the military or criminal justice system, however, would be exempt.
Collins introduced the bill on Monday. So far there is no indication on whether or not Democratic leadership will call it up.
