Senate unanimously confirms Obama judicial nominee
The Senate confirmed Obama nominee Christopher Droney to be a United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit by a vote of 88-0 on Monday night.
Both of Droney's home state senators, Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Richard Blumenthal (D) took to the floor after a quiet day of debate over the pending Defense Authorization bill offered a ringing endorsement for the confirmation, which is expected to easily clear the upper chamber.
Droney is currently serving as a United States District Judge for Connecticut and was confirmed to that position by the Senate on September 11, 1997.
