Senate prepares to vote on ending Iraq War

By Josiah Ryan - 11/29/11 06:39 PM ET

The Senate on Tuesday evening will vote on an amendment offered by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) that would repeal the authorization for the use of military force against Iraq.

Paul's purpose in offering the amendment is to make it clear that Congress, not President Obama, "retains" the power to end the war in Iraq. That amendment is subject to a 60-vote threshold.

The Senate will also vote on amendment offered by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) to reauthorize and improve several small business programs.
