The Senate voted to confirm three of President Obama's executive branch nominees Tuesday.

Christopher Lu was confirmed by voice vote to be Deputy Secretary of Labor.

The Senate voted 99-0 to confirm the nomination of Kevin Whitaker to be U.S. ambassador to Colombia.

Also on Tuesday, the Senate confirmed John Carlin to be an assistant attorney general on a 99-1 vote. Sen. Senators are running out the debate clock on a bill that would extend long-term unemployment insurance for five months. That bill is expected to pass by the end of the week and the next procedural vote will be Wednesday morning.
