Senate advances four judicial nominees

In its first votes of the week, the Senate advanced four district court nominees on Monday.

The Senate voted to invoke cloture, or end debate, on district court judges for Florida and Vermont:

- Paul Byron to be U.S. district judge for the Middle District of Florida, 53-30.

- Carlos Mendoza to be U.S. district judge for the Middle District of Florida, 53-31.

- Beth Bloom to be U.S. district judge for the Southern District of Florida, 53-31.

- Geoffrey Crawford to be U.S. district judge for the District of Vermont, 52-32.

Confirmation votes for each of the nominees will occur Tuesday.
