“Taxpayers ought to be free and independent of wasteful and unnecessary federal spending; that truth is self-evident,” Flake said.

Flake said the more than $125,000 celebration at the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa, Canada, was an “egregious waste of taxpayer dollars.”

U.S. ambassador to Canada Bruce Heyman and his wife Vicki are hosting the invite-only bash, which will feature live music and “delicious summer treats.”
