Senate advances 11th Circuit nominee

The Senate voted 58-33 Thursday night to end debate on the nomination of Jill Pryor to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the Eleventh Circuit.

Cloture on her nomination is the last vote before senators return home for the five-week August recess.

Her final confirmation is expected when lawmakers return in September.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said the Senate will be in session Friday but that no more votes are expected until September.
