“United Nations — you’re about to run afoul of Congress here,” Graham said on the Senate floor Friday. “Beware of where you’re taking this.
Graham’s comments came after the UN Human Rights Council voted to condemn Israel for human rights violations against the Palestinian people.
Israel has been fighting off attacks by the terrorist group Hamas for weeks and the conflict continues after Hamas broke the latest cease-fire agreement. Lawmakers in Washington have argued Israel is just trying to defend itself.
The Palestinian Authority has formed a unity government with Hamas.
“I hope and pray that the Palestinian people will reject Hamas,” Graham said. “The enemies of Israel are our enemies also.”
Earlier Friday, the Senate passed $225 million in emergency spending for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system.
