If that motion fails (and it's expected to), the Senate will take up the several outstanding amendments to the postal reform bill, S. 1789. Senators indicated on Monday that votes on all 39 amendments will not be needed, and the Senate is hoping to finish that bill Tuesday.

Once the postal bill is done, the Senate will return to the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act. As we suspected, Republicans put forward their own reauthorization bill on Monday night, S. 2338.

The House arrives at noon, and later in the afternoon will debate six federal land-use bills: H.R.s 1038, 2050, 2157, 2947, 491 and 2240.

All votes on these bills are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
