Senate passes tribal lands bill

H.R. 205 was introduced by Rep. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.). The House passed the bill in May and the measure now heads to President Obama’s desk for his signature.

Tribes would still have to undergo an environmental review for some building projects, but can use the federal environmental review process rather than the tribal process if the project is federally funded.
