

Senate light on hearings, will take up veterans’ jobs bill
The Senate will ease its way back to work after returning from its August recess.
Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will convene the Senate at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, and later that day the chamber will vote on the judicial nomination of Stephanie Rose to be a U.S. District Judge for Iowa.
The Senate will also resume debate on the Veterans Jobs Corps Act. Reid is expected to file a motion to end debate and proceed to S. 3457 Tuesday around 2:15 p.m.
The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will hear testimony on S. 3469, the Nuclear Waste Administration Act of 2012 on Wednesday. The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will examine if the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is enhancing reactor safety later that same morning.
