Senate bill requires audit of Homeland Security
The Senate passed a bill Wednesday evening requiring an independent financial audit of the Department of Homeland Security.
Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) introduced the DART Act, S. 1998, which require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to submit a report on how it plans to review, manage and modernize its finances.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) passed the bill by unanimous consent before adjourning the Senate for the day.
Sens. Tom Carper (D-Del.) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) co-sponsored the bill, which now moves to the House for legislative action.
