Senate votes to confirm two judges

By Ramsey Cox - 03/11/13 06:04 PM ET

The Senate confirmed two of President Obama's judicial nominations on Monday.

The Senate voted 91-0 for Richard Gary Taranto to be a U.S. Circuit Judge for the Federal Circuit.

By voice-vote the Senate also confirmed Andrew Patrick Gordon to be a U.S. District Judge for Nevada.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said he was sure Gordon would do well on the court.

“He’s consistently been named one of the best lawyers in America,” Reid said ahead of his confirmation on Monday. “I have no doubt that Andy Gordon will serve the court well.”

Reid said he practiced law with Gordon’s father in Nevada before being elected to Congress.
