Senate passes resolution honoring Ariz. fire fighters

“I hope I can offer some solace when I say the courage of those we honor today is immortal. It does not parish with them,” McCain said. “They stood their ground like the heroes they were and fought for their community.”

McCain and Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) remembered the “fallen heroes” in floor speeches Wednesday.

“I firmly believe we will see them again in the better world that is to come,” McCain said.

A memorial service was held for the fire fighters in Arizona on Tuesday. Vice President Joe Biden attended and spoke at the service.
