Collins tells Kerry to hold personnel accountable for Benghazi attack

“Today we honor their memory, but we must also remedy the security failures and punish those who caused their deaths,” Collins said on the Senate floor. “Secretary of State John Kerry should hold personnel accountable.”

Congressional investigations revealed that the State Department denied requests for increased security measures at the consulate because of budget constraints.

Collins said the United States needed to step up its protections of American diplomatic personnel overseas and accused the Libyan government of failing to capture those who committed the attack.
