Reid criticized Republicans for being “obsessed” with losing the 2008 president election and repealing ObamaCare.

“Now, just the economy begins to gain steam, some Republicans in Congress seem determined to derail progress,” Reid said. “They are obsessed with defunding ObamaCare.

“I realize generally the Republicans are still upset and mad that they lost the election in 2008 … but it’s time to set that anger aside.”

Last week, House Republicans passed a continuing resolution that would fund the government through mid-December while stripping money for ObamaCare.

Reid is expected to advance the House spending bill while stripping out the language that defunds ObamaCare. It's unclear if the House will pass the measure without ObamaCare language.

The government will shut down on Oct. 1 if Congress doesn't approve some form of government funding measure.
