Cruz surpasses Paul’s filibuster time

Cruz has been speaking out against funding ObamaCare for more than 14 hours as a way to encourage their colleagues not to allow a government funding bill that includes spending for ObamaCare.

A vote to end debate on the motion to proceed is expected Wednesday, and Cruz's actions cannot stop that from happening.

The government will shut down Oct. 1 if Congress doesn't approve some form of government funding measure.

Paul filibustered the Senate in March in order to get the administration to vow not to use drones against U.S. citizens.
