Sunday night, AMC aired the final episode of “Breaking Bad” — a show about a high school chemistry teacher who becomes a masterful meth cook. Those viewers who haven’t seen the finale don’t know whether White ends up paying for the five-seasons-worth of crimes he committed.

Democrats have criticized House Republicans for putting the U.S. economy in jeopardy by risking a government shutdown. Markey compared that recklessness to actions taken in the television series finale.

“Democrats are not going to allow them to do this,” Markey said. “The American people don’t want the government to shutdown.”

Lawmakers need to reach an agreement by midnight on legislation to fund the government otherwise it will shutdown.
