The House also approved S.Con.Res. 28, which authorizes the use of Emancipation Hall in the Capitol Visitor Center for an event to award the Congressional Gold Medal to various military units that served in World War II. Members approved that resolution 424-0.

Members approved these two bills shortly before 4 p.m., just prior to moving to debate a continuing resolution allowing federal spending through Nov. 18.

Earlier in the day, members approved by voice vote H.R. 2943, the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Extension Act.

The House also debated H.R. 2883, the Child and Family Services Improvement and Innovation Act, on Wednesday, and approved that bill later in the day by a 395-25 vote.
