State tenure boosts Hillary Clinton's standing with voters

Forty-three percent of voters view Hillary Clinton more favorably following her four-year tenure at the State Department, according to a new poll commissioned by The Hill.

The poll shows Clinton boosted her standing among a plurality of voters during her years as the nation’s top diplomat, a position from which she stepped down on Friday.

Not everyone was wowed by her performance. More than a quarter (27 percent) of respondents said their opinion of Clinton has diminished based on her job atop the State Department, while roughly the same number (26 percent) indicated no change in their views.

Clinton, who was replaced by former-Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), has not revealed her future plans, but there's rampant speculation that she'll take another shot at the White House in 2016 – an option she has not altogether ruled out.

Since she became Secretary of State in 2009, Clinton travelled nearly 1 million miles to 112 countries, according to the administration.
