Members call on Qatar to cut ties with Hamas

"We are disturbed by reports that Qatar pledges over $400 million in funds to Hamas in October 2012," the letter stated. It also said Qatar chartered a plan to transport high-ranking members of Hamas's military wing to Qatar's capital, Doha.

It also warned against increasing diplomatic ties between Qatar and Hamas, including Qatar's decision to hold a mass wedding for Palestinian terrorists who were deported to Qatar.

"Failure to condemn such brazen incitement undermines our shared interest of regional stability and prospects for a lasting Israeli-Palestinian peace treaty," they wrote. "In the interest of maintaining strong U.S.-Qatari relations, we urge you to promptly address these serious allegations regarding your relationship with Hamas."

The bipartisan letter was sent to Qatar's ambassador to the U.S., Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al-Rumaihi, and was spearheaded by Reps. Peter Roskam (R-Ill.) and John Barrow (D-Ga.).
