The secretary of State wants to prevent cuts to foreign aid for Egypt and Libya. 

The House late Wednesday approved a bill that would require all drywall used in the United States to bear a label noting the name of the manufacturer.

Members approved H.R. 4212, the Contaminated Drywall Safety Act, by voice vote. The bill would require the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to issue a rule requiring drywall labeling. It would also require the CPSC to issue a rule that puts a limit on the amount of sulphur that can be in drywall and still be considered safe.

“I think all options ought to be considered, including whether we have to just withdraw early," he said.

Senate Tea Party leaders Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) said Wednesday they're not blocking President Obama's nominee to be ambassador to Iraq, increasing the chances that Robert Beecroft will get confirmed before Congress leaves town at the end of the week. 

“I don't think we ever did [have a hold] on Iraq,” Paul told reporters as he headed into a vote, “but we do have a hold on the Pakistani ambassador.”

And DeMint told The Hill following Beecroft's nomination hearing Wednesday morning that he should be quickly confirmed.

“I think this nominee is working in Iraq now and we need someone there,” DeMint said. “This is not a political appointment. He knows what he's doing.”
