Healthwatch news bites: Romney declines anti-abortion pledge

The Susan B. Anthony List is taking presidential candidate Mitt Romney to task for his refusal to sign the group's anti-abortion pledge

North Carolina is getting closer to compensating 3,000 people it sterilized through 1974, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The Trust for America's Health says the agriculture spending bill passed by the House is dangerous to America's health because it will impair the Food and Drug Administration and the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture in protecting America’s food supply and addressing other critical public health issues.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration reports a 55 percent increase between 2005 and 2009 in emergency department visits for drug-related suicide attempts by young men.
