Baucus taps David Schwartz to head health policy on Finance Committee
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) on Tuesday installed David Schwartz atop the panel’s health policy team.
Schwartz, a healthcare advisor to Baucus since 2004, will become the panel's acting chief health and welfare counsel.
The spot was previously held by Liz Fowler, a former vice president at the insurance giant WellPoint, who has signed on with the Office of Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight, a branch of the Health and Human Services Department.
