Burgess: I've voted for bad policy, so should Pelosi

By Julian Pecquet - 06/23/10 02:27 PM ET

Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) on Wednesday offered a unique reason for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to take up the Senate-passed Medicare physician payment "doc fix," even though it's only for six months. Physician payment rates dropped 21.3 percent on June 1.

"I voted for very bad policy in the past [to prevent the cuts]," he said, "the speaker should do the same."
