Report: Obama proposed raising Medicare eligibility age

President Obama has proposed raising the eligibility age for Medicare from 65 to 67 as part of debt ceiling negotiations, the Huffington Post reports.
The online newspaper reports that the proposal would take effect incrementally, after the 2012 election. In exchange, Republicans would have to agree to raising revenues.
It's not clear where the proposal currently stands, as Republican negotiators have consistently refused to budge on the issue of raising taxes. The White House has not denied the report.
Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) unveiled a similar proposal two weeks ago that they said would save $600 billion over 10 years.
