A conservative super-PAC is launching its second ad in as many weeks against Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), this time targeting him for his support of ObamaCare.
Senate Conservatives Action slams Pryor in the ad for being the deciding vote on the major health care overhaul, using a local businessman to accuse him of costing the state jobs.

The Obama administration on Tuesday designated a respiratory disease now found in the Middle East as a potential threat to public health and national security.
The move gives officials the authority to fast-track the approval of treatments and tests for Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), which causes flu-like symptoms and has killed 30 people since April of last year. Because this is a new strain of coronavirus there are no federally approved ways to test for it.

A House Judiciary subcommittee advanced legislation Tuesday that would prohibit U.S. abortions from being performed after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The Subcommittee on the Constitution modified the legislation from its chairman, Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.), to apply nationwide. An original draft would only have implemented the ban in the District of Columbia. Franks praised the new language and compared late-term abortions to the actions of Philadelphia abortion provider Kermit Gosnell, who was recently convicted of killing three viable infants delivered alive after failed procedures.

More than 50 million Americans have trouble paying their medical bills, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday. In the first six months of 2012, 20 percent of Americans — 54.2 million people — lived in a household that had trouble paying its medical bills, the CDC said. The figure is a slight improvement from a year earlier, when 21.7 percent struggled to afford healthcare.
