Google hires Bush spokesman to reach out to GOP campaigns

By Brendan Sasso - 09/14/11 10:58 AM ET

Former Bush spokesman Rob Saliterman has joined Google to run outreach efforts to Republican campaigns.

Google confirmed Saliterman's hiring on Wednesday. He will work with Republican campaigns and advocacy groups to encourage them to adopt online advertising. A separate team will reach out to Democratic campaigns, according to Google.

Saliterman previously served as communications director for President George W. Bush in Dallas and has also worked for the Treasury Department and the Republican National Committee.

Most recently, he worked for Bloomberg LP.

The hire was first reported in Politico's Playbook.
