Dell Wyse leader: A force of nature

Tarkan Maner is a force of nature. That force has been harnessed by Michael Dell, who last year acquired Wyse Technology, the company Maner leads with a passion he wears on his sleeve.

Maner turned Wyse into a global leader of cloud client computing. He sold it as more affordable, more secure, and more sustainable – plugging into multiple trends simultaneously. He built the private company to an estimated revenue run rate of $400 million. What Dell paid is unknown, but estimates range as high as $1 billion.

The state’s tax officials have announced that they are retroactively canceling a tax incentive for startup companies in the state, and now presenting those companies with tax bills that date back to 2008 – plus interest.
