House Republicans plan opposition to potential FCC net-neutrality proposal

By Sara Jerome - 11/30/10 05:10 PM ET

House Republicans are planning ways to oppose a potential effort by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Julius Genachowski to regulate Internet lines before the end of the year.

House aides said Energy and Commerce Committee Republicans are preparing a letter to the agency expressing disapproval for net-neutrality policies.

Genachowski has a deadline of Tuesday night to officially indicate whether he will push forward on net-neutrality in December, although many people expect the signal to come on Wednesday instead.
