Dem wants access to Issa's letters from business

By Sara Jerome - 01/24/11 03:05 PM ET

The ranking member of the House Oversight Committee wants to see the responses Chairman Darrell Issa (Calif.) received from businesses after surveying their complaints last month.

Issa sent letters to dozens of businesses requesting information on which government regulations are hurting job growth. Recipients included some telecom groups, such as the National Association of Broadcasters and U.S. Telecom.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the top Democrat on the committee, wrote to Issa on Monday to say he wants to see the responses, noting that his staff had been "denied access" to the replies.
