Boehner to take questions on YouTube next week

By Gautham Nagesh - 02/23/11 12:11 PM ET

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) will take questions from the public on the budget standoff next week on YouTube.

"With many U.S. states facing budget crises, and the president’s recent budget proposal being met with skepticism by Republicans, the financial health of the U.S. is capturing interest around the world," said YouTube news and politics manager Ramya Raghavan.

Members of the public can submit questions on Boehner's YouTube page using Google Moderator or by tweeting their question with the hashtag #askthespeaker. Video questions are preferred and should be roughly 20 seconds long.

Boehner will answer the top-rated text and video questions on the budget, spending, the economy, healthcare and foreign policy, among other topics. The deadline to submit questions is Sunday, Feb. 27 at midnight. YouTube will post the interview on March 4.
