TechNet execs to lobby Congress, White House next week

By Sara Jerome - 03/04/11 06:05 AM ET

TechNet members are coming to Washington next week to lobby Congress, the agencies and the White House.

They have meetings slated with Senate and House leadership in both parties, a spokesman said.

Over 50 representatives are flying in, including Cisco chief executive John Chambers, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers partner John Doerr, Microsoft general counsel Brad Smith, NASDAQ OMX Group executive vice president Bruce Aust and New York Stock Exchange executive vice president Scott Cutler.

TechNet is an association of executives who lobby on behalf of technology industry interests. They advocate for "21st-century competitiveness" policies, including corporate tax reform and federal support for research and development.
