String of major cybersecurity breaches builds momentum for government action

AT&T iPad breach

A security hole on the AT&T website exposed the email addresses of over 114,000 iPad owners including senior government and military officials last June. 

The FBI opened an investigation into the incident, which originated with a hacker group known as Goatse Security.
