News bites: Theaters turn to UFC to boost sagging box office

A 15 percent drop in the number of tickets sold over the past nine years has movie theaters turning to mixed martial arts, ballet and soccer to draw customers.

The latest research suggests throttling of Web speeds takes place on 23 percent of U.S. broadband networks.

Facebook, Apple and Google are considered the most desirable employers by young workers.

Most news organizations are still relying on Twitter as a broadcast service rather than using it to engage with readers and enhance reporting.
