News bites: Hackers steal customer information from Zappos

Hackers stole information from 24 million customers of online shoe retailer Zappos, Reuters reports. The information included names, phone numbers and email addresses, but not credit card information.

Twitter CEO Dick Costolo said shutting down the site in protest of piracy bills would be "foolish."

AT&T, which needs access to more airwaves to meet customer demand, is considering paying top dollar to buy the Dish Network, Bloomberg reports. 

Apple plans to announce tools to help users create interactive e-books, sources tell Ars Technica.
