News bites: iPad court battle spreads to the US

Chinese company Proview sued Apple in California to stop the company from using the term "iPad," Bloomberg reports.

Apple shareholders expressed confidence in the company's board of directors but questioned what it is doing with its billions of dollars in cash at the annual shareholder meeting, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Apple buys app search company Chomp to revamp its App Store, TechCrunch reports.

One day after Hewlett-Packard announced a big drop in profits, CEO Meg Whitman said the company is just at the beginning of a multi-year transformation, The Wall Street Journal reports.
