News bites: iPhone challenger sales are mixed

By Andrew Feinberg - 04/19/12 09:34 AM ET

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop says sales of the new Windows-based iPhone-Android challenger Lumia have been mixed, according to CNet.

But Gizmodo says AT&T stores are almost out of stock.

CNet reports Facebook could likely choose a May 17 IPO date. Potential investors are using Facebook's acquisition of Instagram to gauge the IPO's value.

Just as a judge orders the two companies to make nice at the CEO level, Samsung asserts eight more patents against Apple in California, according to the FOSS Patens blog.

Apple appears to be calling DOJ's bluff on e-book price fixing and asking for a trial, according to one of the company's lawyers, Reuters reports.
