News bites: FTC nears end of Google probe

The Federal Trade Commission plans to finish its antitrust investigation of Google in a matter of weeks, according to to Bloomberg.

California regulators have approved Facebook's transfer of stocks to buy Instagram, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Fresh off its legal loss to Apple, Samsung unveiled a new version of its Galaxy Note smartphone, the AP reports.

AllThingsD talks to reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian about how he got President Obama to answer questions on the site. He explains there are "quite a few redditors" in the White House.
