News bites: All eyes are on Apple's unveiling of the iPhone 5

Analysts are questioning whether the new iPhone 5, set to be unveiled on Wednesday, will help Apple keep its crown as the top-selling smartphone in the United States, according to The Wall Street Journal

The future of Apple rests on whether the iPhone 5 can dazzle consumers, Reuters writes.

Amazon is hoping that opening distribution centers in various states will help give the company an competitive edge as it starts collecting sales tax from customers, The New York Times reports.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted that he is disappointed in the social network's share price, but said analysts are underestimating the potential of its mobile ad business, Reuters says.

An engineer who helped build the software for Siri is no longer working at Apple, Bloomberg reports.
