News bites: Apple loses its way with new map app

The Associated Press reports that users are panning Apple's new map application, which replaces Google Maps on the latest update for the iPhone and iPad operating system. 

The iPhone 5 will be the first major test for carriers' LTE networks, The Wall Street Journal writes.

Microsoft asked China to stop using pirated software at four state-owned companies, according to Bloomberg.

A U.S. judge fined Taiwan-based AU Optronics $500 million for price-fixing, Reuters reports.
