News bites: Regulators probe patent 'trolls'

The Justice Department and the Federal Trade Commission are taking a look at the impact of so-called patent "trolls" on the high-tech industry, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Israeli government websites are under a mass hacking attack, according to Reuters.

The New York Times examines the privacy issues surrounding the automatic bidding system for online ads. 

Cisco bought cloud-networking startup Meraki for $1.2 billion, TechCrunch writes.
