News bites: AT&T CEO says 'fiscal cliff' deal will require tax hikes

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson said a "fiscal cliff" deal must include both spending cuts and tax hikes, Bloomberg reports. 

District of Columbia government officials are paying an analytics company to gather comments made about them on social media sites, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The New York Times examines the regulatory obstacles facing car service app Uber.

European nations are teaming up to force some of the biggest tech companies to pay more in taxes, The Wall Street Journal writes.
