News bites: Apple appeals ruling denying Samsung ban

Apple appealed a judge's decision to turn down its request to ban 26 Samsung devices over patent infringement, Bloomberg reports.

Gambling companies are partnering with the makers of mobile gambling games in the hopes of building a user base that will pay off if online betting is legalized, The Wall Street Journal writes. 

Facebook is testing a service that will charge users $1 to ensure that messages they send to people they are not friends with will arrive in the users' inboxes, rather than the "other" folder, according to The Associated Press. 

An Italian court acquitted three Google executives of having violated the privacy of an autistic boy by letting a video of him being bullied get posted online, Reuters reports.  

Hulu's owners must decide whether to sink more money into the online service, The Wall Street Journal explains.
