News bites: Decision in Google case could come today

Google is expected to make a voluntary agreement to settle its case with the Federal Trade Commission today, according to Bloomberg.

Google is forcing people to create a Google Plus account if they want to use other services like YouTube or Gmail, The Wall Street Journal reports.

A study found that Google and Yahoo are placing ads on sites that feature pirated content, The Los Angeles Times writes. 

File-sharing site Megaupload claimed in a court filing that the U.S. government lied to obtain search warrants of its computer servers, Bloomberg reports.

Ars Technica examines patent trolls that are demanding payments from companies that use scanners.
